Chioke kennels was established in 2003. We purchased our first girl as a pet and decided to have a go at showing and we got the ridgeback bug. We become hooked on the breed and relised that one was never enough and as they say the rest is history. We are a small kennel located in South Gippsland. We breed for soundness in mind and body. We aim to breed healthy, happy hounds with the emphasis on great temperament. We choose our sires very carefully with temperament our main concern. All our breeding stock is hip & elbow scored prior to breeding. We have been members of the Rhodesian Ridgeback club for 6 years, and i currently run the rescue service. We currently share our home with our 5 ridgebacks. We also have Staffordshire Bull Terriers at home. All our dogs can run together and get on well. We compete with both breeds in the show ring. I would like to say a big thank you to Gerry from Kipsigis Rhodesian Ridgebacks for allowing us to purchase our fondation bitch from her. She is a wonderful ambassodor for the breed and is loved by everyone that meets her. Our dogs are our pets and companions first. They do compete in showing which we have had some good results, we also complete obedience and would like to get into tracking in the future.
